I had my 36 week checkup on Tuesday. Everything looks good…except I measured 39 cm! Yikes! Either I’m way off on my due date, or he’s going to be a porker! Hearing that made me start to worry that if I do have a very large baby, the birth will be harder than with Kaisa…but I have to remind myself to let go of those negative thoughts and trust in my body. I know I can do this!
I had the midwife check my cervix and I am a fingertip dilated and only about 40% effaced. With Kaisa at 36 weeks I was 1 cm dilated and 70% effaced! I now know for sure that I am carrying him higher and I don’t think he’s “dropped” yet, or I would probably be thinning out a little more. That’s fine…I really need him to stay in there until after the 28th, so this is a good thing.
I am trying to be patient, but I can’t wait to hold my little boy!
